Cobwebs and boxes
Beauty dies where litter lies
and lies do litter this old room
where I can no longer
walk in beauty.
I henged myself in with loss
(though little did I know
until you showed the way).
In the next room, however,
you still sleep in our bed, my beauty.
How can I unsay my actions?
Undo my words uttered, believing
in my male foolishness
I could make myself to be the charging knight
I thought was best for you,
while I did not listen to your sense?
Karma kissed our bond,
slowly, lingering in love.
I will open the window,
let the breeze deal with the cobwebs,
let your sun in, so
I can tell where to store the boxes,
which to throw out.
I will give you my heartās name,
let you have the reins of my beauty
for therein lies our liberty

I don't know how I'm the only comment so far! I believe this to be one of the most clever poems I've had the pleasure to read!Ā Really enjoyed John ! thank You for sharing ! your poet friend, Jim
Hi, Jim, yes, you have First Comment this timeš I am flattered by it. I am finally finding my voice, after 42 years of writing poetry, though I doubt I will ever catch up with my first 'hero' e.e.cummings (did my doctorate thesis in him, back in 1988)...
