A Cold Night

A Cold Night

Out my door into the world, this cruel dark place we must convince ourselves is worthy

A light shines on my head, then shuts off, just as I almost reach it

Seeing my breath, i hug myself tighter in my hoody, wondering what am I here for

I gaze into the desert and see the coyotes, staring at me, just as a vulture follows prey

Prey that is soon to give in to the hardship, it's eyes pierce my mind

Our eyes connect, our minds are one, knowledge of a cruel world kills the coyote

The other coyotes start feasting on their dead pack leader, shocked as life does the same

Only the strong live, only the strong can raise, the ones who can't are swallowed in a dark obis

I wont give in, I wont say im done, I scream at the top of my lung, "I'll survive!"

The night turns to day, vultures turn to swallows, coyotes turn to people, and I evolve

This world might convince you aren't good enough, throwing so many twists that twist your mind, have patience you will find the key to success someday, when you are ready too.
