Poem -

COLOURS

They always told me that the
sun roseĀ in the east
And set in the west, but
This wasn't ever true in my
case
I would spend so long
entranced by the set of it
I'd forget to find it's rise
sometimes
It seemed to me the whole
world had got it wrong anyway
The colours of the dying were
so powerful strong
Much more so than the
shallow shades of youth, or
the blank stare of the newborn

The sun always rose in the
west for me

One day, it will set there too, I
suppose...
