Poem -

Colours of the rainbow?

“To all my friends and family”

Colours of the rainbow?

I wander in and out of shades of navy blue in these days of isolation as I cannot visit you
I long for the moment when you are by my side when both of us are laughing happily with no reason to hide
But I look all around me as I walk all alone and I look at your photograps that are stashed on my phone
I feel a pleasant shade of green amidst these fresh fields and I lose my demean

In the evening I watch the nine o clock news and I see the despair so I go back to the blues
Off to my bed lying next to my fellow my body dances in dreams in a hazy mellow yellow
Then I wake in a nightmare “ Am I really in my bed ?” This vision is so realistic “Like the Devil I am red”
“Thank the Lord” as I lie on my back
That was a very dark moment and Oh so black
I close my eyes in the middle of the night and I wander off to an oblivion in a fluffy cloud of white

I am all the colours of the rainbow so beautiful and bright as I lie in my reveries until the early morning light
From black to blue to a scarlet red
I have a vivid imagination betwixt my head
Colours of mundane boring greys fill my thoughts on these current days
So I reminisce midst my marvelous memories as I have so much time to think
One day we will be together again and I will be tickled pink !!!
