Poem -

Coming apart.

Certain things can linger for years, like the smell of him and salty tears

that last goodbye like a quote in your head, the forgotten flowers dried up -dead,

the last kiss , where you could hardly breath

That thought that haunts and won't repreave ,

that nagging feeling won't leave well alone , that one you'd had to grieve atone,

That thought that you'd always had forever,  Hand in hand together wherever

that certain song that's  played so much, the one that's says I need your touch

The long lonely hours while hearts are contained, and you wish him well, while your hands are stained,

the blood sweat and tears it mingled so well, within that ending you know  you can't tell

It's the colour of his eyes that remind me of you, that perfect sky of a beautiful blue,

the aching inside each beat of my heart,

certainly a smell takes you back to the start,

where everything was perfect and all was in bliss,

the touch of a hand the feel of a wrist

The shape of one's soul embedded in yours,

all of the memories running and pause

Like a mixed tape of madness passion and fire,

that certain smell how it sparks that desire

To love that same love over again, to stop acting like children and mend the pain

be a good Friend To rekindle a
moment you first had of met,

like butterflies being caught in a net,

it's that longing we aim for the loving display,

the ones that get us through the night and the day

That burning expression that comes from the soul and leads to the heart of it and leaves us whole,

it's the ways of a love like a letter you've read stuck with the voices Of things that were said,

the way that they felt and the way that you bled,

it's the final applaud when the curtains are drawn,

it's the love of a lifetime gone and forlorn,

that magical feeling where love it is born

That freedom of expression deep down in your heart,

that moment you first loved, before coming apart.
