Poem -
COMING UP STRONG
She knew she had my heart, and played it like a game.
We tried to work it out, but nothing ever changed.
Going separate directions, it was time to change lanes.
Had to check a new perspective through an old window pane.
Now I'm petal to the metal, never settle, making gains.
Hotter than the kettle, off the grid, & out of range.
Take IT to the limit, break free from the chains.
I'm Coming UP STRONG, I will never be tamed.

Hey, VERY cool JAMES!!... you know what I envisioned as I read this!?......I saw you in a fast-moving car....... like a video for a song where the girl had broken your heart & you had to "Change Lanes" .......just my minds eye doing what it does (lol)...... and as usual this has that perfect timing of a rap song and/or pop melody type thing......I LOVE your stuff man......VERY creative...... if this did become a song...... I really appreciate that Tony! I LOVE the idea about the video! Great idea!!! And i REALLY appreciate the kind words it really means a lot man! I know i say it a lot... But its exactly why i started putting stuff on this site. To get some feedback from some great writers to see where I'm at. Music is my passion and over the years i have struggled with finding people to create with as dedicated as myself. I've decided this is my niche in life and I'm trying to pursue it. People think I'm crazy but I know without a shadow of a doubt that i can hang with some of the best out there musically and lyrically. (as far as a song goes anyways you guys on here make me feel like a 2nd grader with a pack of crayons presenting at a prestigious art gallery or something lol) But anyways not trying to ramble but i got to a point where i decided that nobody wants this like I do. So I have to go and get IT. Thats my life mission. Just trying to shed some light on others with something fresh, funky and original. I play the guitar, drums, bass, and produce my own electronic beats and anything else i can get my hands on lol I'm simply a lover of music. But Tony I'm sorry you fell victim to this ramble lol but i really appreciate you and your words my friend! Cant say it enough, HIGH 5's BROTHER!
And by the way I LOVED the "changing lanes" idea... I could totally see that! Your minds eye is on point with that vision tho. I've got the perfect song written for it. Its very different to say the least lol. Natural instruments, acoustics, maybe some bongos and tambourin accents with a super funky bass line and a super groovy beat dancing around on the hats. Everything simply accenting everything else perfectly. I want EVERYBODY to get down on it musically, but word it where everybody can take something from it lyrically as well. Perhaps shed a lil light in some dark areas ;) you can hear theres influences from everywhere from classic rock, hip hop, blues, jazz, rap, even death metal lol i love it all try to incorporate it all and it makes for a different genre of music i believe lol
