Poem -

THE COMPASSION INCARNATE

THE COMPASSION INCARNATE

You are the sun of my heart of thoughts

You are the moon of my thought of thoughts

You are the one, I can never ever forget

Mother! You are the one I can never forget.

Playing into the hands of past imaginations

I revert back to my pleasing childhood days,

Fixing your loving form in my mental visions,

Mother! I cherish the warmth of your love rays.

Your grace-filled, loving and caring looks

Made me grow to know what the world is,

Standing firmly I ruffled all the life’s books

Unruffled midst all attractions and worries.

You taught me to give water to the thirsty,

You taught me to give bread to the hungry,

You taught me to give shelter to the needy,

You taught me to break the wall of animosity.

Exposing that the worldly life is passion-infestedĀ

The lamp of knowledge you kindled, Oh my Mother;

But, shedding all worldly attachments you vanished,

And, in the ocean of your love, I am doused forever.

Yes, my humble obeisance! Oh compassion incarnate! Ā
