Compensate Me Please

A Humble Prayer

Compensate Me Please

Progenitor of Great Magnitude
You seeded the heavens with limitless power and glory

A tiny part has been shared with me
and yet it blows my mind

Still, some of the light was clouded
The winds stole some of the stardust

Not every conduit of love was faithful
Not all have shared the trust

I was born impoverished
And had to struggle to find much blessing

And though you met me more than half way,
my condition is still depressing

See, what I lacked from my material father
has been a bitter ache

And I don't want my son to suffer the same fate
Not at all, for your name's sake

Please help this former hostage
to rebuild his little life

and leave behind a heritage
for my descendents and my wife
