Confident girls

Confident girls

While walking through a crowd

I find people staring at me

I wonder if my make-up’s too loud

Or if I overdid my curls

I keep walking confidently when I realise

It’s not my make-up nor my curls

It’s my beauty that attracts them

The beauty possessed by confident girls

The gazes never alter my aplomb

But I feel curious

Have I got my shoes wrong?

Or is my skirt too short

But then my conscience says

Who cares what they think

Because I’m gonna do it anyways

And that maybe they’re awestruck

By my flawless frames grace

Which all confident girls

And so I, possess

Girls ask me

What my secret is

When I say it’s my confidence

They say-don’t lie please

Then I explain -

It’s the bright shade of my face

That fades never

It’s the courage in my eyes

Which has been there forever

It’s the suave in my voice

The pride in my smile

The audacity in my steps

The poise of my style

So now you know

A confident girl like me

Would never let her head bow

Let the world stare or comment

I have the freedom to do

What my heart says

Because i am a confident girl

With confidence as my companion always
