Contrite Spirit

Contrite Spirit

A broken heart and a contrite spirit,
Can we be humble; or do we fear it?
We've all endured types of abuse,
Form of treason; or factual excuse?

I ponder man's inhumanity to man,
Hope for healing; and wonder if we can!
Exactly how to put temptation aside,
Greed, envy, lust, all the forms of pride.

That's the reason we all are here
The agency of man; a test sincere!
A choice to follow the God of love,
   Progression, order, peace from above.

            Love and immortality freely given,
Choice to follow the Shepherd; never driven!
Humbly walking with the Savior a start,
Forever yielding to charity in thine heart!

The obverse a possible ease of way,
Be captive, oppressed, the infernal prey!
Spiritual death I would advise to flee!
Where darkness prevails for all eternity!

A Lonely Journey

Jim,
Fantastic writing, my friend! I'm so glad I finally got to read you. I see you on my awful poems(like that last one I wrote! It was brutal).
But that was great!
Very talented.
Matthew.

Jim "The Lad" ....

Thank you for your kind words ! My wife likes poems that are easily understood, and so I try to make them clear in meaning, but I am always ready to answer a question of the meaning or inference! In my faith there are different degrees of glory that all of Heavenly Fathers children will inherit after judgement except for a select few that with full knowledge of the Savior still reject Him, will be consigned to outer darkness, simply not able to be influenced by the Saviors light, or the Holy Ghost. " The sons of perdition".
