Country girl

I sit on a stool 
All wrapped in wool
little sister at my side
Listening to the ocean tide 
Papa comes in
Smile on his face
And says, come, let's all say grace 
"Then play for us, papa, won't you ?"
I said
"I shall, my darling, just watch and wait 
Did you put money on the plate?"
"I did, you can see it's all there!" I replied
"Though I nearly got cought by a bear."
Papa ruffled the hair on her head
"With your help 
Soon we'll leave
Now go up on to bed 
But papa!" I said, tears forming in my eyes
I wanna live here forever, where I can watch the sun rise!"
He looked down at me, filled with surprise
"I thought you wanted to go, 
Somewhere you didn't have to work,  rake and hoe"
"No, I don't, I wanna stay here
Width all the squirrels raccoons and the deer"
Well well see what can be rearranged 
Papa said, opening a beer
"Don't worry about it,  don't shed a tear
Well stay here ever year "
He opened his fiddle
And began to play
