Cournered

She was too beautiful to be UN-notice
In a world where the rough take stage
And the rewards go to the brute
For his ability to be UN-caged

She was too practical not to be nice
Goodness has its own advantages
While easy takes less hassle
And smiles can be quite contagions

She was too kind not to be caring
Although beauty can be frightening
When it approaches the average and blend
With loving arms of inviting

She was mistaken for someone else
Not as beautiful or as kind
She took center stage as she always did
After gun fire she was left behind

She was too bloody to be recognized
Her beauty shattered as in a moment
Who she was, gone without notice
And disappeared without a monument

She was too fearful to be calmed
Her eyes widen with need all her own
Who would give at this critical moment
Even if from what she herself had sown

She was too cornered by strange faces
As death came like armed guards
Without warning or goodbye came blackness
And among strangers, a good life departs
