CRAZY ROMANCE

It’s been a long, pallid winter amidst
Half done promises frozen in thin ice.
The complication of interest and sentiment
Is irreconcilable in every taut muscle
Of this relationship…our geography unmapped,
We’ve become vagabonds within this liaison.
Where are we trapped…within each other’s secrets?
We’ve both engaged in half loves, searching
For ourselves in the eyes and smiles of strangers
And wasted “beauty” trying to pry an acceptable
Transliteration from the heart of an ascetic moment!
Love me irresistibly or leave me mercilessly!
Yes, a brutal solution, but one with a destination!
Baby, it’s time to break away from bondages
Let’s burst into spring like newborn infants!
There’s intoxication in the zephyr winds
And portent in cerulean skies!
This affair is unfinished…it’s full of split endings!
Our past is done…nothing was as good
As it should have been then, so…
Let’s begin again our wild and crazy romance
Infused with delicious flirtations and brazen
Nights adrift in each other’s adroit explorations!
This time next year the winter will be summer warm!

Val I think sometimes your poetry is so intellectual and deep the meaning gets lost unless you take the time to sit and really read your words.  I have just read this poem three times over and it is a quality, beautiful piece of poetry.  Writes can get missed so easily on this site because there is so many and imho this is one of your best.  So profound and so wonderfully written.  A huge 5*s and nom from me Val, I loved it:)
Rachel!  I'm so glad to read your comments!  I thought I had failed… and this is one of my favorite writes.  I simply wanted to convey that there is a definitive journey in loving someone…you can't succeed if you're working at cross purposes, thinking the grass is greener on the other side, indulging yourself in other mini affairs on the side just for variety or wandering around within a relationship without direction.  This relationship needed a restart.  Thank you for your vote!!!
