Cries in the Night

When sunset has ordered
“let there be moonlight”
it’s high time we heard
The cries in the night.
When redness takes over
Îżn dresses so bright,
we’re ready to hear
The cries in the night.
In lace proud and covered,
and leather black tight,
the crowd’s folding over
The cries in the night.
In music we scream
we two bring the blight,
because we can hear
The cries in the night.
With dancing and swaying,
the girls shrink with fright,
cause they start to feel
The cries in the night.
When instinct emerges
and thrushes with might,
nothing else matters
but cries in the night.
We dance and we scream
we touch and we play
The cries in the night
have cast us away.
The beat of the music
steals beats of the heart
The cries in the night
have blown us apart.
The kiss we don’t need
the dance we will miss
The cries in the night
our drinking abyss.
The chance we are offered
by beauty and charm
To cry in the night
with no will to harm.
With each pair of lips
captured but one
The cries in the night
have taught us to charm.
We touch and we stir
We feel the pulse deep
The cries in the night
with one breath we sip.
We move skin to skin
We breathe lip to lip
The cries in the night
with one kiss we nip.
We touch palm to palm
We dance waist to waist
The cries in the night
have left us with haste.
The sun of the morning
is winning the fight.
We no longer hear
The cries in the night.
The poem has been inspired from a song by W.A.S.P. called Cries in the Night.
