Poem -

DAD

You catch me by the ankle
As I dance through the air
You cushion my fall
When I jump without care
Your hand reaches down
From the top of the well
You shine down a light
To cast out the dark spell
You are laughter and caution
Indulgence and truth
You are the kindness
That's needed
To curb careless youth
You are comfort
And saviour
A heart without end
And I will cherish you always
My favourite friend.
Dad.

Hi Cherie, like you I never had a close relationship with my father...this is about my step dad who came into our lives when I was 16 (a long time go now) and took on 6 of us. He has been a strength to us all ever since and is quite simply....dad ??

Marion,
Very beautiful. He must be so proud of you, you're a wonderful person.
My parents didn't have any children, so I don't know anything about that. (Kidding, Woody Allen line).
Wonderful write!!

Thank you Marion, you just made my day for the second time!!(someone else I talked to was kind enough to say something similar).
Let me tell you, you should be winning some of those contests!
(Note: I haven't won either, but I did place 43rd in one of them...unfortunately there were only 6 entries, but it was a small victory for me. End of note).
Thanks for being so nice, Master.

Wow! You did better than me!! (I'm an accountant, so I'm pretty good with numerals...except for those Roman ones...they look like letters to me...but I could be mistaken).
LOL. You rule!!
I'm voting for you next time! Wait...do I get a vote??
