dancing with Dementia

dancing with Dementia

I danced  Boogie Woogie
with the boy from Company B,
 just by chance...
I saw him in Lounge 3,
he faultered in his step
but then the music
brought back the memory
of Friday Nights ..
spent jitter bugging
chatternooga chooting
and swinging melody..
he held my hand
for just one moment
the years dropped
upon parquet flooring
and we danced
amongst the wall flowers,
with less vigourance
than youth would display..
for one moment
we had snatched back Time
and on its conclusion
I got a knowing wink..
from the boy from Company B
decades away in  Lounge 3

(just another day at work...till time travel kicked in )
