Dark and Light

I was dark and you were light,Β

I kicked around and dragged you down,
Made you fall so hard, you hit the ground.

We had good times, but mostly bad.
You knew I destroyed everything I'd ever had!Β

But you stuck and you stayed, even though I was toxic,
And I warned you so much and I started to panic.Β

That I could never turn out as the girl you'd hoped me to be.

So now you're gone, you've left me to my own devices,
Because of my issues, I guess this is what the price is.Β
And my demons have taken their toll on you.
The light left while the darkness grew.Β

I was dark and you were light,
But in the end, you gave up the fight...
