Darkened beauty

Butterfly kisses are now long gone,

beaten down by a man, like a sad love song,

silence invades me for the duration of time,

what he has done, should be considered a crime...

Rotten to the core, thought he was a man,

striking at will, because he knew he can.

one time too many has he bruised my head,

or taken my love while held down on the bed...

Once a beauty, a kindhearted soul,

now I'm closed in...looking so old.

sadness prevails, my heart has been shred,

I'm regretting the day, I said I would wed...

For the first time in years, I can finally sleep,

my children are safe and we no longer weep.

my house full of torment I now want to sell,

it comes with my husband,
he's at the bottom of the well...
