Darkness

I am saddened to learn you never had a normal childhood, Esmeralda.
Quite often, if we're having a rough go of it as adults, it is because of the choices we ourselves have made. But a child should never be made to endure the tortures of adulthood.
We're all human and we all make mistakes. The key to overcoming is to learn from them so they have meaning and that we keep from making the same mistakes again.
As for darkness, I prefer living in the darker, more shadowy recesses of life. There are far fewer people there and it's much cooler in the dark.
