Date

Nervous, anxious... something more
It's been over two years
Since the end of the war

My nasty scars must show
When the sunlight hits by angle
But I have come out of my bunker
To sit with you dear angel

I think you took notice
Not all my weapons were down
But also understood
in diplomacy with heaven
I am clearly a blundering novice

It has been two decades
Since I danced upon the prairies
I had almost stopped believing
In the existence of fairies

But then your golden face
came gleaming into view
And that is when I knew
It was time for change of pace

A calm grace silence had me sold
My enemy was gone
The battle and the foray
Replaced with oasis song

Your images were like memories
From a place I had once been
Visiages of peace en scene
Sweet as those ripe palm berries

The stark contrast defeated the dark
Sandy light burying obsolete obelisks
Former civilisation drowned to final spark
My demons exercised with your virtual kiss

In the haze shines your shield
A victory you share
A wisdom for my folly
In your lovely curly hair

You've wanted a world of love
Indeed so have I
And again I'm brave to die
To defend our celestial dove

So walk with me into a new dawn
My darling desert gazelle
And let us leave behind those shadows
That were once a living hell

We'll start a brand of blessing
A glistening bronzen host
Where paradise blossoms once again
And brokenness fades as unfelt ghost
