Poem -

Daughter

Daughter.
Now wife, and mother.
yet I want you to recall
That you started out my way.
With singing songs and bedtime
stories.
Braiding hair in herring bone
searching for your Barbie dolls
and doing tons of stuff for science fair.
listening to your coughs and colds
worrying sick at every little thing
praying for you at school and more
wanting your life to be better
than mine.
wanting your heart to not be broken
for your dreams to come true
and not be forgotten.
I was never so proud on your graduation day
how your dad and I grew talk ok.
Basking in that dreamed for goal
knowing you were on the better road.
Daughter I know I let you down love
my life a battleground.
But I wanted you to know how much
and how often I think of you.
About all the. Big and little things
you do.
I am asking for your forgiveness hon
for you to let me have a place
in your precious life the one
I so miss.
I cry tears each and every day
Sadly wiping them away
Wishing for another chAnce and
wanting you to see the change.
The woman that I am, your
loving mother   mommies...
oh yeah mommies to you.
