daughter

Were we ever destined
To be anything other
She eyes all my faults
Like some indugent lover
forgives me
somehow I've become childÂ
and she's become mother
our roles well rehersed
as if time has reversed
I forgive her
she hangs up her coat
sinks down deep in my chair
Kicks off her shoesÂ
And I'm home everywhere
that she is

I see incredible honesty in this
Some how I've become child
A great line so very emotional when our children become stronger than us for what ever the reason, I guess the silver lining is they are well prepared and strong. 🌹Â
I don't mind admitting that this is so very relatable to .. My own daughter is now grown and stronger than I ever imagined she might become .. whereas I feel much less so .. excellent, self disclosive honest, raw and true .. x
Of course she forgives you. You are the mother. And os course you forgive her. You are the mother and because of that, the love only a mother can feel, you are who you are. She knows that when she sinks down deep in your chair.Â
A big hug, Â BÂ
This has brought tears to my eyes. Set me off you have. In a good way. My daughter also acts like mother at times. I get this, I really do xx
You know I'm so glad you like this one Tina... that you can relate to it...course you can. I'm so immersed in grief constantly it has been easy to put aside my great love and relationship with my now only daughter who is my strength, my rock, my daily life just as he was and still is. Writing about her/us gets overlooked in the darkness. I love that you like it and are lucky enough, like me, to have been bestowed the beauty, friendship and love of a daughter. Thankyou 💕
I LOVE this one! I really do. Great writing. I FELT this xx
