Shooting Star

The trail of a shooting star I shall follow

For a wish come true, I'd beg, steal or borrow

I wish you were once more here with me

I wish we could laugh as we did, continuously

But I know reality will intervene this coming day

I know it will be hard to find the words to say

What you have and what you mean to me

As I tell all those in grief, I miss you so desperately

How could our world suddenly end in this way ?

Will God answer when I'm on my knees to pray ?

Seeing you laid to rest will be more than I can take

On this pitiful day, my heart and soul I will forsake.
