The Day We Never Met (Green Eyes Version)

On The Day We Never Met
It was hot and humid, laughter of Regret
Smiling later, yesterday it seems
But, Oh so long ago, even now, still
Goosebumps this memory gives me
My memory, has come and gone
Fading away, but this one here, always remained
Other memories lost, this one became clearer
My Angel, My Savior, she became clearer
Not enoug water, drenched in sweat
Atop, what I thought, Phonecian Steps
Scenery Unimaginable, this place called Capri
Perfectly placed, amidst, the clear blue sea
Tunnel Vision, in and out, these steps I kneel
Suddenly, shade overtook Me, asked "You Ok"
I remember looking up, only to look away again
Caught off guard, By This Woman I Seen
Black Hair, effortlessly flowing, flawless skin
Not Green, Nor Dark Green, Emeralds it seemed
Her Eyes, gazing, directly into mine
Parting waves in my Baby Blues, Defenseless
Vulnerable and Stunned, All I Could Say, Was
"Are We There Yet", with a predetermined grin
I remember, That Smile, so clearly, as if yesterday
But, Oh so long ago, A smile rarely seen in this world
Or any other world, A Smile that blinded
Not My Sight, but, that of My Heart
Of fear, Of loss, At the same time
Healing Me, of the breaks before
"Have this" she insisted, throwing water to me
"Your name" I replied, "Sara" she smirked
Then off she went, about ten steps
Glances back, with those Eyes, and that Smile
And throws me a look, a playful glare
One I have since not seen, but
Year after Year, I always return
To this same place, Hoping
To be graced by her presence, Once More
To find myself, Kneeling, and Smiling about
That one time, Those Eyes, That Smile
Even if, for just an instant, Met Mine
Starting a fire, that has long since
Burned in my soul, For That Woman, named Sara
I once, was lucky enough to have saw
