DAYS

On top of today are all our past days.

Underneath,  forthcoming days whisper

Entreaties to nature’s clock…tick and tock:

The time between sunrise and sunset.

Yesterday will settle in twilight memory

Its path further, deeper into forgetfulness

As another interval of light between two

Successive nights will renew the cycle.

Again your smile folds into my eyes,

Your voice pursues my soul,

And today restrains me from tomorrow.

So I wait the day out into its dotage

Eager to begin the next layer of living

With you breath to breath.

I bear kisses that haven’t be pressed
From my lips to your body.
My arms have yet to hold you…more.
My heart is a full abyss…
Love ages like wine for your there.

This transmigration of dream to reality
Is retrieved sublimely as we live life
Moment by moment…
I feel you beyond what is the present.

Sequestered in a lunar eclipse
And the autumnal equinox time 
Continues without a recognized absence because:

Desire is immortal,

Love…eternal
