DAYS OF OUR LIVES

DAYS OF OUR LIVES

The world has become numb
To its occupants cries and pain
It's heart is seven times callous
Submerged in an ocean
Of guilt and permanent stains

Blindness dwells in the conscience of man
He is consumed by evil
Led about by greed and corruption
Creating chaos and devastation in the land

The middle class like an ox eats grass
Working their fingers to the bone
Fifteen hours a day
Laborers, wondering far away from home
Living in fear of their student loans

The poor is covered with purifying sores
Willing to eat the scraps that falls
From the rich man's door
But his mansions are secured
With electric fences and armed guards
So even the crumb from his table
Is confined to his yard

And so oppression thrives
In the lives of the middle class
And the poor of this world
Who struggles day by day
Just to survive
These are the days of our lives.
