DAYS OF OUR LIVES

The world has become numbÂ
To its occupants cries and pain
It's heart is seven times callousÂ
Submerged in an ocean
Of guilt and permanent stainsÂ
Blindness dwells in the conscience of man
He is consumed by evil
Led about by greed and corruptionÂ
Creating chaos and devastation in the landÂ
The middle class like an ox eats grass
Working their fingers to the boneÂ
Fifteen hours a dayÂ
Laborers, wondering far away from home
Living in fear of their student loansÂ
The poor is covered with purifying sores
Willing to eat the scraps that fallsÂ
From the rich man's doorÂ
But his mansions are securedÂ
With electric fences and armed guardsÂ
So even the crumb from his table
Is confined to his yard
And so oppression thrivesÂ
In the lives of the middle classÂ
And the poor of this worldÂ
Who struggles day by dayÂ
Just to surviveÂ
These are the days of our lives.
