Poem -

Dear Dad

Dear Dad,

I know we had to say goodbye when I was very young.

Actually I never got a goodbye, you just got up to leave.

You probably don't even remember me.

I read something on facebook about how your life is just so hard.

How no one understands how you feel.

But tell me did you ever take a second to think about how I felt?

I grew up with people telling me I was worthless because you left.

Yet you never looked back.

Remember my second birthday?

Oh that's right you probably don't because you were drunk out of your mind.

Now my family is trying to get me to meet you.

But in my mind you have already said your goodbyes.

No matter what anyone says you will never be considered family.

You chose another lonely rode.

That no one should ever walk alone.

But I mean who cares, right?

You don't have another kid to make you so uptight.

I guess you can say this is my first and final goodbye.

Once yours, now forgotten,

J
