Poem -

Dear Water

Become my harmony, my pulsation,

My hydrant, my motivation…

—for you’re an island I can’t reach,

 A kettle I can’t touch, even a ship I

Can’t sail. What is this breach of soul?

It haunts me, a fracture in my spirit,

The instrument of my grief. Tell me

There’s a key, for I’m trekking through

The desert without a canteen, searching

For a cactus. Water me, my love;

Saturate me with kisses; for I long for

Your embrace, communing with eternity,

To unlock my sacred koan.  Indeed, I’m

Sick and sore, thirsting for my fountain.
