Poem -

Into the deep.

Pieces of eight - pieces of eight
The parrot said,
As he bound my wrists with rope
And flung me once again
Into the deep blue
He liked to watch me suffer
Testing my abilities
To survive
What he didn't know
That once my lungs filled
Within the visions of the sea
I was free
Free from the binding rope's
around my sanity
Swimming beneath it all
Through every ripple backwards
Becoming new
And transformed
I grew stronger beneath
The riptide
I could breath under water
The wetness around my soul
Became a blanket
Almost like holy water's rain
No pain entered my body
Fear evaporated
Time and time again
Below the surface
I did not pretend
Nor defund my thoughts
They were like valuable pearl's
My heart the confining shell
Protected by the memories of love
Sharks swam by aluminous
Like robotic dancer's
Curving below the ship
Waiting for those pieces of eight
Like hunger wolves to sheep
They never bothered me
A connection between
every living creature
that swam the waters deep
When the rope tightened
My journey ending
Ripped from my birth again
Pulled from the depths of heaven
Drying aboard the ship of pain
My secrets they would keep
Until i entered once again
Into the deep blue
holy water's rain.
