Defiant

There's something very comforting

About the rust on an old barrel

Or the jagged edge of a broken pot

Fading plastic hanger

And rotted timber ladder

Well... the comfort isn't really there

It's in the green leaves of spring

They make it very clear to me

That death will never win

Jim "The Lad" ....

I believe death has already lost, when the Savior walked out of the tomb. The free gift of immortality to come! I enjoyed the symbolism of your poem!....Jim
