Demon of darkness

Amidst the twilight of eventide
there can be no niche to hole up or hide
By hook or by crook he will hunt you out
A dreadful demon of darkness
without any doubt
Muffle those howls
Shield from yon sight
Shroud in the shadows of the night
Camouflaged in cover
a curtained cloak
Could this be a lost lover ?
A bitter bloke ?

His silhouette suppresses
hair-raising hate
horrendously, horrifying
as he seeks out his fate
Lurking in lovelessness
lost in his desire
his lust ensnares like entangled barbed wire
Beware of his false front
Do not get caught up in his lies
He wears a masquerade
of make-believe and disguise
Was this man once scorned ?
Is this the result of his cries ?
