Demons Within Me

I've always felt there's a presence inside me
Causing my brain to constantly run like a machine

Even when I'm asleep, deep inside my sub-concious

My dreams are as vivid as my awaken concious state of mine

Ita like a never ending war between my soul, heart and brain

Perhaps even more like a holy war between what's right and wrong

Regardless the reasons for the destined battles of Demons Within Me

There's never a moment where I feel I have control

Not even the sense of a well thought out nor strategic battle plan

It's always as if in the middle of never ending chaos I'm just thrust into battle

Always in a panic, pressured, back against the wall scenario

Where one sudden gut decision will be the difference between life or sudden death

After years of only tragic memories, array of violent illusions from this never ending civil war

My soul has become hollow, my concious bare and my body a shell of its former self

Yet my brain, regardless of the self torture, remains vibrant and sharper than ever

I guess that's where the enemy lies, the Demons Within Me !!

Leaving me with only the hope of a long sought out inner peace

I've been so desperately fighting for since birth

Only now after many tortured years of trial after trial

I realize the answers I've fought so desperately for will only come to me

After defeat, after my judgement day, after death!!
