DESCENT FROM THE CROSS

DESCENT FROM THE CROSS

DESCENT FROM THE CROSS

Ricardo Antonio Garcia

In a classroom of male students

one will get pregnant.

Observed by the others as ‘outside the box’

a Brigadier Generals Son stabbed him

but was stopped before killing him.

The teacher wept

for the World was waiting for him.

Students fled the room

when the blood spattered against the walls

and the Sunlight streamed in

against the indigenous faces of some.

In the classroom of our intellectual equities

the ruler divides the moralities

censoring the oblique or austere artifacts

of what it is or isn’t Spiritual.

Centuries of known truths are on hangers

held in the closets of the inquisitive.

Cultivating lies, twisting history

teaching of bribes

and sensationalistic journalism, the new breed

does not know the streaming facts, that

a child is born that will be hunted.

The redundancy of Christ

is slingshot across the Universe as we repeat

fear of the Demigod.

We shall nail Father, Mother or Foe

against the tribunal meanderings of our beliefs.

The descent from the Cross … is nigh.
