Poem -

Desire

I felt you in that cold, dark room
The dim haze of the television set
Vaguely described features
A night undefined by the perimeters of time
Our essences merge.

Consciousness flickers like a dying light
Cement walls separate us from reality
From a spider's web hangs our discretion
Snip the thread and we are free.

Free me, release me
Meld with me in every way
Surround me like an apparition
Dissolve my innermost thirsts away.

I wanted to tell you,
I wanted to tell you.

I lay at the bottom of the sea
The heaviness of the waters
The debilitating compression
Are the weight of my desires.

Emily…lovely write!  Your imagery is very unique…the third stanza is particularly beautiful and expressive.

Wonderful!
