Desolation

Desolation

It feels like I held you for a second
The hours without you feel like a lifetime
I mourn the loss of your body entwined with mine
How does it feel like I have known you forever and then you disappeared as if we never existed
Your face now just a memory in my mind
Your fingerprints no longer engraved on my skin
Waiting for the phone to ring
Wishing you would be outside my door
Waiting for the time to pass in hope you get erased from my thoughts
Silently craving to stop breathing to never long for you again
A voice I so deeply want to hear
The words I so desperately want to hear are just an imagination in my abandoned thoughts
