Desperation

Before the sun I rise
A slow but steady climb
Through fog, rain, or pain
I have priorities I must maintain
So i'm off to make an earning
Swiftly turning, rubber burning
I'm enraged with road rage
Due to traffic im delayed
Cant be late
Or consequences I will face
I've already been warned
An can no longer plead my case
I take matters in my hands
As I begin to speed away
Checking mirrors playing it safe
I got a ticket the other day
Now my sense are heightened
Need overtime to get it paid
Or my bills I have to weigh
Maybe its time to get things straight
I've been coasting for too long
It is my right to take the lead
As I switched lanes my v8 screamed
Right before the light turned green
Now my brake lights they have to see
Luckily I was running late
Surely I would have made them wait
Instead I quickly sped away
I dont plan to lose my job today
