Poem -

Destiny's Child

Dedicated to Tina (Being Me)

Destiny's Child

Someone special,
That's who you are.
You're Destiny's Child,
Who will go far.

Your future is set,
Cast from higher powers.
By all that's good,
Amid heavenly bowers.

You're so unaware,
What you will achieve.
For all humanity,
In you'll soon believe.

Your soul is eternal,
And your heart too.
The light both shine,
Will guide all through.

Their broken hearts,
So many in need.
Endless lost souls,
You'll help to feed.

Upon this earth,
People's sins befall.
Their hate divides,
But you'll unite all.

You'll help others,
In forgotten places.
Standing so tall,
With all good graces.

They will stumble,
And they will fall.
You'll pick them up,
Each one and all.

You'll lift all spirits,
Make each anew.
And all shall see,
The good in you.

They'll look to you,
For time shall tell.
To change their ways,
From your noble spell.

A future saviour,
For all humankind.
You're Destiny's Child,
With an angelic mind.

Your gifts are many,
For humanity's plight.
Soon called upon,
When the time is right...

Dedicated to Tina (Being Me) for all your uplifting and generous support.
And for writing such poetic quality and excellence.

Shaun...❤❤❤...not only have you written the most beautiful work, it is also dedicated to one of my favourite people on here. She does indeed have the soul of an angel and lights up this site when she appears. The quality of her writes is astounding. She is supportive of everyone for no other reason than she wants to be...and because she is generous of spirtit and very kind.
pinned because the work itself is soulful and beautiful and so are you lovely man...hugs ❤

Marion thank you for your kind words and Tina more than deserves this, for she is astounding in what she writes and so caring and attentive in her wonderful and uplifting comments brimming with moral support and positivity.
And truth be told I feel like kicking myself for not thinking of it sooner.
Thanks again Marion and the eureka moment dawned on me after leaving a comment yesterday on your brilliant BENEATH poem and noticed Tina's comment.
So good Marion you and your poem had a part to play in this deserved dedication too.
And for that I thank you again my friend. x.

Being Me

Wow !!  Shaun! THANKYOU. I dont think I deserve such praise so I am feeling very humble right now and extremely honoured my friend. The truth is, I just love poetry and I love reading the fabulous poets here on Cosmo. I think it important to let someone know if I liked their poem or if it touched me in some way.

Thankyou so much my dear friend for this fabulous poem. You are a star that burns brightly within these Cosmo pages. Keep shining 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 xx

Tina and THANK YOU! And you so thoroughly deserve this and forgive me for not thinking of it or for doing it sooner. Bad puppy!
And you mention fabulous poets here on Cosmo and your words ring so true and clear.
Who like you write with a passion for poetry and with crystal clarity mirrored by and blessed by a great and ceaseless imagination in what is lovingly presented.
And there is a quote towards the end from my favourite move The Shawshank Redemption and it's one about hope and it goes like this...
'Hope is a good thing,
Maybe the best of things,
And no good thing ever dies.'

And after reading your poems,
You are that hope,
You are the best of things,
And your poetry reads eternal.
Thank you so much Tina for sharing and for being the person you are. x.

Max good to hear from you and thanks for everything, just been out of the loop after a two week holiday and found I had been chosen.

Hi Shaun,
Good poem but don't enter into the contest
by means of playing to the gallery.
Terry.

Terry Reeves I don't play to any gallery in this world or the next.
You're a wolf in sheep's clothing, real double standards.
You give with one hand saying 'good poem' and even like it, then
with the other you do the intended damage with a cynically, cheap,
crass comment.
This is a poem dedicated to a poet I admire and respect.
And respect is clearly lost to you.
For your petty little jealousy doesn't like it being nominated.
Well shame on you Terry Reeves.
And take your high powered perception you use on other people
and focus it towards yourself, your soul that is and see what
you find there, if anything.
I've blocked you Terry.
And if you don't like it, tough.
That's life.
Here endeth the lesson.
And have a nice day.

Dear Shaun,
I haven't replied after all this time -
of course Tina is a great and helpful poet.
So many others, you don't have the grace to admit that I am right!
We can all congratulate others - some like Tony has said that
I should not do so because it is far too ott.
Be more thoughtful in future and stick to your usual great writing.
Regards,
Terry.

Pratibha thank you so much and Tina is the tops not just for me but for all on here.
And her poetry and her book The Garrow King more than proves what a great and dynamic talent she is.
And just to let you know your Tangles and Knots I've reordered and Tina's to leave an Amazon honest glowing review on each for all to see.
Might put one up tomorrow night revamped a tad and still working hard try and push the poetry boat out with that Sorrowful Trees sequel/ grave reimagined put more poetically pure. If that makes any sense!!!
In the meantime Pratibha I'm off to read yours right now.
And thank you for your kind comments and don't forget Shakespeare In Love is still on BBC iplayer!
A great movie and story and cast.
Thanks again Pratibha,
Your friend and fan too,
Shaun.x.

Thanks Pratibha and how right you are about Tina.
Back tomorrow to read more of yours and make time for others also.
Mr Sandman and the land of nod calleth me now and that tree sequel to Sorrowful Trees is one I'm pushing the poetry boat out with, playing hit and run with but taking time to shape it make it beat and flow smoother all in good time. A real labour of love.
But will put something else up in a day or two.
See and read you tomorrow my friend and simply enjoy life. x.
