Devil Plays The Fiddle

Ā
Flawless beauty
elegance of a swan
but behind her eyes
thereās something terribly wrong?
Ā
I feel her pain even as she glides
a wasp swarm uninvited
has invading her insides
stinging her profusely
without remorse
yet she holds her dignity
with elegance and force
Ā
as I look, in the mirror closely I can see...
Ā
the devil plays the fiddle
and the ballerina is me
Ā
behind my eyes heās a rampant beast
the fiddle he plays devouring his feast
Ā
if only, if only the mirror wasnāt there
my reflection is in front
oh, how helplessly I do stare.

Wow Shirley what a marvelously deep piece... each line perfect actually. Love the ballerina reference as it's so relevant as there is something so hauntingly fragile about ballerinas. Love it x
You read this perfectly, so recently I found some of my very old poems, this is one of those, a million years ago and so very proud to share with you dearest Marion, thank you so much dear friend, I hope my Angel is behaving. š¹ ā¤ļø Thank you... ā¤ļø
I see song lyrics, just as with Home, of which I can't find in your catalogue. I'm sure it's there, the line about the reflection in the puddle, as well as other lines, quite stand alone lines, in that poem. Song lyrics are such stand alone lines, just saying - great work when you're just that much younger, H and thanks for the backstory as to when TDPTF was composedĀ
Completely humbled dearest Rory lyrics? Wow I never saw it myself, but now I do, yes actually thanks to you and B.SĀ digging out the kookaburra 2 weeks ago that has led me to find my older stuff written in my late 20's of a period I was really lost and lonely. Thank you with all my heart. š Moreover an absolute pleasure to share with you all. š¹
