Dex

Tonight's the night...
when the day's bodily crashes have subsided,
and the nagging dread of tomorrow has not yet set in.
Tonight's the night for him again.

The dark passenger awaits its next victim,
as its frozen host longs for warmer coasts,
for sweeter days of calculated kills.
Before a decade of rust and northerly chills.

His face a bit more ashen,
his facade a bit more vivid.
His soul a bit less pure,
and his heart just a bit fuller.

With new blood, it pumps its way toward tranquility.
Toward fresh kills and boxes of crullers.
Toward fatherhood without conditions.
And solitude sans sisterly intermissions.
