DID YOU!?

DID YOU!?

Did you really think you could
Enter other women,
Slander our times together by
Regurgitating my faults
And walk away unscathed?

Did you think you could leave
Holes in my questions,
Make love to me with your eyes wide shut
The ubiquitous image of another woman
In the iris and lock me in with the extravagance
Of your remembered caresses?

Surly, you did not assume I would
Allow you to twist the logic of "us"
To engineer a redesign for your preeminence?
Or let you withdraw all currency from our
Relationship only to offer it as a last sacrament
While you undefined and unwind
My life from yours with excuses?

Did you really think being free to leave
Would permit your departure
While wearing me like some old coat
Indifferent to the threadbare chill of rejection?
You can't revise unconditional love
Or bridge it with moderation!
It will always cause an effect of inequitable exchange.

So...

Turn the key in the lock and take
Your baggage of infidelities with you!
