Difference In Taste

Difference in taste
There's no waste
Whatever you're feeling
Don't hesitate
Be crass
Be bold
Don't follow rules
Don't do as you're told
Deep thinking
Space and time
All ideas welcome
Inglorious or sublime
Humorous
Or serious
Compos mentis
Or delirious
Don't question your rhymes
Don't worry if they belong
There's no right
There's no wrong
Let your ideas
Out of the cage
Don't hide in the dark
Take the centre of the stage
Spill your thoughts
Spill your love
Spill your rage
Let your emotions fill the page
Forget time
Embrace rhyme
Your vinegar
Maybe someone else's white wine

Cheers Tony. Yeah that is one crazy comment above. Something about parallel universes or something. I haven't read all of it as it's way too long. Love & rockets to you too mate xo
well done Syd, Really enjoyed this :D
Thanks Lorna, I've just got in from work to find out I've came 2nd in the competition. I didn’t realise my poem was nominated. Take care - Syd x
Congrats!!! I don't drink sodas but it was well deserved of winning.
Thanks James. Me neither
Congrats Syd!!! Xxxx
Thanks Lucy xxx
Massive congratulations Syd! I didn't even see this poem of yours until now, and it's such a worthwhile prizewinner. As Charles said, it's more about getting things off your chest etc in a way others may relate, but recognition of great work should be given as deserved.
p.s how are you finding "Wonderland Avenue"?, presuming it's arrived.
much love.
Thank you John, much appreciated. It arrived the other day and so far so good. I'm only a couple of chapters in where he's still a kid. I can't believe I haven't discovered the book earlier to be honest. I'll be reading No One Here Gets Out Alive when I finish it. Cheers - Syd
You're welcome mate, I read both when I was 15, but if memory serves me correctly "wonderland avenue" describes Jim's childhood to help understand many of his later lyrics. "There's a killer on the road, his brain is squirming like a toad" , among others. Enjoy!
much love.
That's the best book I've read in a long time John, one of my all time favourites. If you've got any more recommendations let me know. Cheers - Syd
I'm glad you enjoyed it mate! I loved it, and can't think of many (if any) that I would personally rate higher! Have you read "The fifth Beatle" written by Brian Epstein? Again, I read this a long time ago, but also being a fan of The Beatles, I remember enjoying it. However, in my view at least "Wonderland Avenue" is way better! Same goes btw, if you have any recommendations I'd be grateful.
Thanks for the votes recently btw mate, much appreciated!
much love.
Congratulations! Well done!!! ?
Thank you Leah
