Different

If I have write-it-off days
where I get nothing done
as per my to-do list
Does that make my life
a train wreck?
This habit hasn't killed me though
So could it be sustainable?
Is it just how I roll
The extent of what I'm skilled?
It's not that I'm unproductive
I just get caught in a rip
It's a creative process;
a wonderful escepade
My mother always told me not to panic--
that struggling would sink me
like the Titanic
So I go with the flow
and do not resist
And hope I'll catch-up
on the work that I've sidelined
Still, it don't always serve me well
this nonchalant demure
Sometimes I fall behind with the rent
My name splashed with shit,
as my reputation dives
and I get a bad rep
Cause it impacts other lives
and that's bad karma I imagine
Could I change or control it?
I cannot say
But I'm open to the idea
No pressure of course

Once in a while, every now and then, I am pretty sure that we have all decided to have a write it off day. However, I don't think we should have very many of these days... well, we only get a certain number of days in our lives, why write them off? And anyway, I reckon that these write it off days will come back to haunt us on our death beds. Put something off until tomorrow (if you can do this without detriment) by all means, but don't write the day off! ? x
I like what you've said there. Yes, I am probably entitled to a few, but need to go easy and reduce the frequency LOL. I am reminded of prayers in the Bible about "restoring what the locusts have eaten" and "mending the fences destroyed by the little foxes that have eaten my vineyards".
May the heavens help me pick up the pace and make up for lost time before the tortoise wins the race!
