Poem -

Disguised Emotions

Mom hands my little sister a red balloon.

The cake is being set up in the kitchen.

Little girls run around, filling the house with laughter.

Me, I'm upstairs. Painting on my smile.

Mom calls upstairs, "Are you ready yet, they are waiting!"

I'm the clown she's afraid of.

The painted on smile, with the hidden frown.

A pale, white face, fiery red hair.

But when the clown makeup is wiped away,

I'm her big sister again.

She knows I don't want to harm her.

I love her.

I am just a clown in disguise.
