Poem -

Do Not Sleep

Rest your eyes this dreary morn,
But do not sleep for long my dear.
For last night’s stillness lingers reborn,
and crushes new hope without you near.

Do not sleep for long my dear…

Another restless body worn,
My waking mind walks its last mile.
While muscles ache and eyelids mourn,
Light’s darkness reigns without your smile.

Wavering along K’s event horizon.
the constant, c, no longer impresses;
It simply gives way to forces rising.
As riddled as I, it ponders and guesses.

Laugh for me, smile again…
Light the way through this torturous peace.
Do not sleep for long my dear.
Make this morning’s dullness cease.
