Does my Mother Notice Me?

Drinking, Dancing
Sounds like a party
Does my mother notice me?

Deep voice scolding me
Hard, rough hands beating
Me repeatedly
Does my mother notice me?

Hot breath on my neck
Sweaty hands roaming over my
Body
Does my mother notice me?

Always in need of somebody
Never there physically or emotionally
Does my mother notice me?

Lying, cheating
Smoking, drinking
Does my mother notice me?

Sneaking out, meeting boys
Learning my sexuality
Does my mother notice me?

A life full of sin
A life full of depression and
Anxiety
Does my mother notice me?

This is my perception
Age 5, 8, 16, and 23
Did my mother notice me?
