Dogs, a must. An integral part of life.

During the hard times.
When tears stain my cheeks.
When I am confined
and often so weak.
They give me a reason to get out of bed.
When in reality, I'd rather be there instead.
They need to go potty.
They need to go pee.
and at eight a.m. they want
their cookie.
When I am sad, as I often am.
They come and caress, head under hand.
Demanding pets,  love and hugs.
I cannot help it, at my heart they tug.
They are really one of the reasons
I am still here.
When my depression returns, I wish to disappear.
My humans don't always seem to understand.
I know my husband tries, by me he stands.
But as I get sicker, a burden I remain.
This is something, I wish not to attain.
My girls don't see a fault in me.
With them, it's love unconditionally.
Zora- Bayta-Cora are my three.
