Poem -

Don't Be Afraid to Weep

In an island
By the sea
Far away
From my home
Blood and guns
And death a sea away
But somehow
It caught us all alone
Fly away
Fly away
In your prayers
We're not a country
Used to bomb scares
And it's the first
For us
For us
Leave your tears
And your flowers in the dust
I was waiting since age one
A life I didn't even know had begun
But the dust settles
And in its wake
We thought we were safe
And we didn't stay awake
But now
Now they caught us off guard
Now blood's in the grass
Of our own backyard
At it stains
As we sleep
In this waking dream
Don't be afraid
To weep
