Poem -

Don't Lie

If you tell me you aren't afraid

of love you're lying.

If you tell me, that when I

take my finger and trace down

your arm so slowly, your heart

doesn't start to race,

you're lying.

See, that's the thing about love,

I am you and you are me and

together we're not perfect but I know

deep

deep down we're always truly happy,

and I know this because when

I smile at you, you don't just smile

with your mouth, you smile with

your eyes and you do this half-awkward

downward glance and I know

the words “what a dork”

are floating through your mind.

Ahhhhh, your mind.

That's the only thing I'm worried

about.

I'm worried one day you're going

to realize how wonderful you are

and leave.

I'm worried you're going to stop

loving me, even though my love for

you has never been

stronger.

This is why love's

so scary, so terrifying, because

the mind is a fickle place

and I cant help but

think about how the one person

I love with all my heart, being and

soul, the person I put my

life into,

could one day leave me.

So don't lie if I ask you if

you're afraid of love

or if I make your heart race

because I love you

and I don't want to lose you.
