Don't stare

Don't stare

Don't stare

Please don't look there

Don't look at me like that

I'm afraid you'll see my cracks

You probably already see the scars

I see how perfect you are

And I'm scared that what you see

When you look at me

Will make you look at me in a different way

I know if you look too deep

It won't be beauty you'll see

But pain and rain and deep blood stains

From the whips and chains

Some I placed on myself

Some given that I kept

Some I just couldn't shake

So I just dressed them well

Then I fell in love

Forgetting they were there

And now they are exposed

I promise not to drown you in my holes

I planned to heal

Before we ever got here

Before we made it this far

But love takes no deals

So here we are

You are too close

I'm exposed

Please don't stare

No half ways

No half ways

Because my soul won't allow me to "half do" anything, half love is foreign to me.
