Don't tar me with the same brush....
We're not all the same

Don't tar with the same brush....
Not every man out there is the same.
We’re not all liars.
We’re not all narcissists, consumed by mirrors.
No, I’m the opposite, I'm a people pleaser.
Not all men are selfish. Not all are lazy.
And me? I’m certainly not.
Some of us, we’re great fathers.
Not deadbeats, not shadows in the lives we create.
Some of us are capable of love, of holding it tight,
Of being loved, fully, wholly, all at once.
We don’t all cheat or hurt the ones we cherish.
No, I promise, I’d never.
Never lay a blow on a woman, no matter how hot the flame of argument burns.
I stand in my truth, firm as stone.
All I want?
To be loved, respected, treated as equals.
Is that too much to ask?
Tell me,
what’s the harm in that?
So don’t paint us all with the same brush strokes,
Don’t let the actions of some redefine the whole.
Because there are men who stand tall, shoulders steady,
Carrying love, loyalty, and kindness like a banner.
I’m just a man, imperfect yet trying,
Trying to be better, to grow, to rise.
I want to love without fear, to give without restraint,
And to receive respect as the equal I strive to be. So here I stand, not perfect, but real.
Not flawless, but honest in how I feel.
I speak not just for myself, but for those unsung.
Men who love, respect, and lift others, one by one.
Judge us by our hearts, not the sins of another.
See the good, the striving, the hope we uncover.
Because at the end of the day, all I ask is this:
To be seen for who I am—a man, human, nothing less.
